  • i) Handloom and Handicraft: Our NGO actively collaborates with the handloom and handicrafts department, Ministry of Textile, Govt of India to empower artisans through capacity building, skill development, and market linkages. Currently we are working with selected location of NE Region.

Improved Toolkit Distribution Program (ITDP) was successfully organized on 10th October 2025 by the Multiform Development Foundation, Nagaon, Assam, with sponsorship from the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The ITDP focused on supporting 50 wood carving artisans, who were provided with improved toolkits specifically designed to meet the practical needs of traditional woodcraft. The distribution program was graced by the presence of eminent dignitaries from the administration and handicrafts sector. Smt. Olive Parme, Deputy Commissioner, Lower Subansiri District, Ziro, attended the event and highlighted the importance of empowering rural artisans through such welfare-oriented schemes. Shri Jayanta Singh, Assistant Director (Handicrafts), HSC, Itanagar, addressed the artisans and explained the objectives of the Improved Toolkit Distribution Program.

Design and Technology Development Workshop (DDW) Program organized for a duration of 50 days, from 25 October 2025 to 23 December 2025, at Silbari in Baksa District under the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Assam. The program was sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. This DDW program specifically focused on the training and upgradation of skills of 30 musical instrument artisans, with special emphasis on the traditional string instrument Dotora. Dotora is an integral part of Assamese and folk musical traditions and holds cultural significance across rural and tribal communities. The presence of Shri Membor Baro, Artisan & Social Worker highlighted the social impact of such programs in empowering artisan communities. The closing program of the Design and Technology Development Workshop (DDW) was attended by Mr. Pankaj Yadav, CTO, HSC, Gauripur, from the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Gauripur, Dhubri, Assam.

National Handicraft Week 2025 was celebrated with enthusiasm and cultural pride on 14th December 2025 at Bala Mugkuchi, Nalbari, Assam. The event highlighted the rich traditional craftsmanship of Assam, with a special focus on the Geographical Indication (GI) product, the Assam Japi, crafted from cane and bamboo. Organized by the Multiform Development Foundation, Nagaon, Assam, in collaboration with the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.

On 24th December 2025, a meaningful Chaupal interaction was organized at Nalbari with handicraft artisans associated with the Geographical Indication (GI) product, the Assam Japi. The programme was led by Hara Kanta Baro, Regional Director, Handicraft, NER and aimed at strengthening awareness, promotion, and preservation of this iconic Assamese craft.

An awareness and interaction programme with handicraft artisans was organized at Anjaw District, Arunachal Pradesh on 6th, 7th, and 8th March 2026. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly 280 artisans belonging to different villages and tribal communities of the district. The initiative aimed to promote traditional handicrafts, strengthen artisan livelihoods, and spread awareness about government schemes and financial support available for the handicraft sector.

  • ii) Education: Multiform Development Foundation is run an institution in the name of Multiform Computer Institutions (MCI). Under this institution we are running Skill Development Scheme with the name of TSD scheme, The objective of this TSD scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth (Student) to take up industry related (self-employed) skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Under this scheme, skill education will be given to all those students who are unable to study due to lack of money. And along with training, certificates will also be given to all the students, with the help of which the student can easily get a job anywhere. For this Multiform Computer Institutions (MCI) is not charging any Fee from the student, It’s totally Free of Cost.
  • iii) Disaster Response: Being a disaster-prone region North East is situated in the earthquake zone-VI. Particularly Assam is highly vulnerable to various types of natural calamities like flood, earthquake, landslide, storm and droughts. Disaster risks in Assam are further compounded by increasing vulnerabilities related to changing demographics, socio-economic conditions, unplanned urbanization, development within high-risk zones, climate change and epidemics. Multiform Development Foundation, with its welfare interventions focused on children and their families, responds to the call of humanity in times of such calamities under its Disaster Response programme.
  • iv) Sanitation works: Currently the entire NE stands at 81% in terms of IHHL after the Swachh Bharat campaign also, but still a lot is to be done in terms of latrine constructions in flood and erosion prone area using innovative techniques, also in certain geographic locations there is drinking water problem particularly the arsenic belts and Flood prone areas. We at Multiform Development Foundation seek to look into these issues seriously and use appropriate technology to be used by these vulnerable section of the society. We are currently involved with a number of toilet building project aimed at ensuring adequate sanitation facilities for the needy.
  • v) Health: Delivering healthcare to remote and slum areas is a very complex challenge. Multiform Development Foundation in close collaboration with State and Central Government and other partner organizations work to secure accessible and quality maternal and child healthcare among remote and slum communities. We work towards identifying the root causes of healthcare challenges, provide innovative solutions, and help implement secure and quality healthcare services in Assam and North East India. We organize temporary dispensaries with doctor for checkup, arrange for pathological investigations, provide medicines through dispensary among the needy people. In the year 2024, Multiform Development Foundation, Nagaon, Assam, in collaboration with officials from the Health Department of Hojai, Nagaon, and Morigaon districts in Assam, successfully organized a series of health camps aimed at improving access to healthcare services for local communities. During the health camps, a total of 2,100 people benefited from free medical check-ups, which included general health assessments, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, and consultations for common ailments. These check-ups were conducted by qualified doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff who volunteered their expertise to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate medical advice.
